Child Development and Protection Unit

Kanko Associates’ child development programme is operated through a legally registered charity entity, Sustainable Development Alliance (SusDA) with focus on the five elements of ‘nurturing care’ for children, Health, nutrition, early stimulation, learning opportunities and protection, as defined by UNICEF. The ultimate objective of SusDA is to ensure that all children, especially the most vulnerable ones, survive, thrive and develop to their maximum potential. We pursue this objective through developing and implementing projects on: Health and Nutrition; Early childhood Education and Caregiving; Child protection; Livelihood support to parents of vulnerable children; Street children and foster parenting and others.

SusDA partners with likeminded organizations to promote children’s rights and their protection by developing and implementing projects that strengthen existing national and local child protection systems; educate and sensitize the public on the need to protect children; end child marriage and ensure child online protection.
